Feral

Sink my teeth
Into flesh
Savage,
Ferocious spirit
Blazing within.
Run wild;
be free, untamed
by men, shed
the skin of civilisation.
Fight, anger burning
Bright,
Howl, sing it on the
Wind.
Prowl, teeth bared,
Avoid the shackles,
Beware the lies.
Feel it, the fierceness,
The core of my essence,
Wolf-woman snarling.
Tread warily, he who would subdue her, for
“Sweetest tongue has sharpest tooth”.

—————–

A note on the end quote: it is from the movie Company of Wolves and is intended as a warning to little girls about predatory men… I’ve appropriated it here, clearly intending on a different reading of the line. 😉
